History of Wales

Wales has been very remote and inaccesible for many years due to the poor condition of it's roads. Until the mid 1800's it was common for most travel from the west coast of Wales to be done via the ports on the coast rather than travel across Wales to England. Below is a selection of books which chronicle the history of the tracks of Wales or act as a guide to find the oldest remaining ones many of which remain unsurfaced and ideal for mountain bikes. click on images or links to buy securely online from Amazon.co.uk

Trailriding Guide to Spain book cover
The TrailRider Guide to Spain: as a fan of Spain it's hard not to rave about this book. It received great reviews on singletrackworld.com and is a good benchmark to what a ride guide should look like. Written by Bristolian James Nathan anyone cycling in Spain should get a copy for the general info such as spanish phrasebook for the bike shop. Sadly missing the Pais Vasco rides but check out Grazalema and Cazorla as an alternative to the heavily pushed riding around Grananda.
