The North Wales Mountain Bike Association executive committee at its AGM at Coed Llandegla MTB Centre on the 21 February 2006 was pleased to announce succesful negotiations had secured a significant sponsorship deal with Tilhill UPM in partnership with One Planet Adventure the operators of the Coed Llandegla Mountain Biking and Walking Centre at Llandegla Forest in Denbighshire. The deal includes both funding for the club as well as some discounts at the centre available for club members. As part of the sponsorship a re-designed jersey will be produced and sold at a very competitive price that will identify club members with an exciting contemporary design and also advertise the Coed Llandegla Forest. The club also announced it will be returning to its MTB race organising roots in 2006 and will be organising a National Cross Country races as well as introducing some exciting new formats for mtb events at Coed Llandegla over the next 3 years. The club already co-partners in producing the Merida 100 MTB Marathon event at Ruthin with MTB-Marathons, this years event will be held over the weekend of 16-17th September. Other events being promoted in 2006 will be the annual Cyffylliog Challenge MTB fun ride, Clocaenog Trailquest MTB orienteering in Clocaenog Forest. In 2005 NWMBA events raised £1300 that was reinvested in local charities and organisations benefitting wide sections of the local community beyond mountain bikers.
