'Clwydian Hills' - venue for Mountain Biking cross country and downhill National Points, Points Finals, National Championships, and Kona 100 I live here so OK... I am biased but this is a lovely range of mountains graced with many good unsurfaced ways and the most 'winningest' venue for calibre MTB events in the UK bar none. The highest peak Moel Famau at about 550m is near the centre of the main ridge made of Silurian Shales. To the west the flat 'Vale of Clwyd' in Denbighshire, and to the east the limestone 'Flintshire Plateau'. It is also a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.. so I am not alone in my view..want a second opinion....ridetheclwyds.com... |
